Civic engagement
Getting involved brings communities together. There are many ways to volunteer—whether it involves being active and volunteering or getting involved with local or state opportunities.
CSU is home to two democracy-focused centers which act as national models for civic engagement.
- The Straayer Center for Public Service Leadership focuses on creating leaders in public service. The center offers access to internship and professional development opportunities. Explore how the Straayer Center enhances studies and helps students gain experience in many areas of public service.
-
The Center for Public Deliberation is dedicated to enhancing local democracy through improved public communication and community problem-solving. The center creates spaces for citizens to come together, provides good and fair information to help structure the conversation, and offers skilled facilitators to guide the process.
